Out-of-state contractors working in Wyoming should be registered to do business here, which is worth confirming rather than assuming.

Verify general liability and workers' compensation directly with the carrier or agent for the dates of your work, with your property named as certificate holder. Ask whether striping, concrete, or drainage subcontractors carry their own coverage, since those portions of a Wyoming pavement project are frequently subcontracted and may be performed by firms based some distance away.

Because there is no licensing board, references carry the weight a credential would carry elsewhere. Ask specifically for projects at comparable elevation, on comparable subgrade, and with comparable loading — a Cheyenne track record does not demonstrate an understanding of what a Jackson winter or a Gillette haul route does to pavement.

WDEQ administers construction stormwater permitting through the state's WYPDES program, so coverage for a qualifying project comes from the state rather than from EPA.
