With no state license as a filter, the verification you control carries the weight. Confirm the exact legal entity named on the proposal is registered with the Secretary of State and matches the name on both the insurance certificate and the contract. Verify general liability and workers' compensation directly with the carrier or agent for the dates of your work. Then get references on comparable projects in the same area that are several years old and call them — pavement that still looks right after four Oklahoma summers and two ice storms tells you more than a photograph of fresh asphalt.

Hail tends to affect an aging, oxidized surface more than fresh pavement, and it often damages striping, wheel stops, signs, and light bases as much as the asphalt itself. Why does the drive-through lane rut when the rest of the lot is fine?

Because that lane sees the worst possible combination for asphalt: slow or stopped traffic, in the same wheel path all day, while the surface is at its hottest.
