Vermont Snow Removal Contractors

Common models are per push (a fee each time they plow), per inch (price scales with snowfall), seasonal flat rate (one price all winter for budget certainty), and time-and-materials. Each shifts weather risk differently, so confirm the model before comparing prices.

A trigger is the amount of accumulated snow that starts a service — for example, plowing once two inches have fallen. Trigger depth, response time, and re-service during long storms should all be defined in writing.

Repeated de-icing chemicals combined with freeze-thaw cycles are hard on pavement, especially concrete sidewalks and curbs, and can accelerate surface scaling and joint damage. Choosing the right product and applying the correct amount helps protect surfaces while keeping them safe.

Yes. Pedestrian areas carry high slip-and-fall risk and are frequently left out of plow-only bids. Confirm that sidewalks, entries, ramps, and stairs are explicitly in the scope, along with who de-ices them.

Slip-and-fall claims are common in winter. A contractor who logs the date, time, service performed, and conditions of each visit creates a record that protects both the property owner and the contractor if a claim is filed.

Often, yes. Plowing technique and de-icing products affect asphalt, concrete, and striping. Coordinating winter service with sealcoating, crack sealing, and repair planning helps protect the pavement and control long-term costs.
