Gallagher & Burk Inc.

Gallagher & Burk Inc. is a long-established general engineering contractor and asphalt materials producer headquartered in Oakland, California. Serving the East Bay since the 1920s, the company handles complex civil construction projects for municipalities, transportation agencies, commercial organizations, and industrial property owners. Its field capabilities include excavation, site grading, asphalt grinding and paving, pavement reconstruction, aviation improvements, rail infrastructure, and design-build construction.

The company operates its own asphalt manufacturing facility on High Street in Oakland, allowing its paving crews to coordinate closely with material production, quality control, transportation, and grade-control personnel. The plant produces conventional and recycled asphalt products, including warm-mix materials. Gallagher & Burk has completed work for organizations such as the City of Oakland, Alameda County, Caltrans, the Port of Oakland, and Union Pacific Railroad. Its experience with active airports, rail facilities, streets, terminals, and other operational environments makes the company particularly suited for large, technically demanding projects that require careful phasing, site coordination, and safety management.
