How this calculator works
Material cost: tons × plant price per ton, plus any waste/overage entered as additional purchased tonnage at the same rate.
Trucking: enter a total trucking cost directly, or switch to Calculate trucking and enter truck count, hours per truck, and an hourly rate — trucking cost = trucks × hours × hourly rate.
Delivered cost and effective price: material cost (with overage) plus trucking plus surcharges and fees gives the total delivered cost. Dividing that by total purchased tons gives the effective delivered price per ton, which is often higher than the plant's quoted price.

- Material cost = (Tons + Tons × Overage %) × Price per ton
- Trucking (calculated) = Trucks × Hours per truck × Hourly rate
- Total delivered cost = Material cost + Trucking + Surcharges + Fees
- Effective delivered price/ton = Total delivered cost ÷ Total purchased tons
