- Nothing in this group is a paid feature on any tier, now or planned.
- A free claimed listing and a Featured listing publish the same business facts — the difference is how many of them you may carry and where the listing appears.
Service categories
Breadth is the one claim a directory cannot check and the one contractors inflate hardest. Claimed listings average around seven categories against four for unclaimed ones. A company that says it does everything tells a property manager nothing, so every tier has a cap — it is a data-quality rule first and a paid lever second.

Worth knowing
- The cap applies when you save, not when your page renders. A listing already carrying more categories than its plan allows keeps every one of them and keeps appearing on the pages it is indexed on — it simply cannot add another, and comes into line the next time the owner saves.
- Downgrading never silently removes a category your listing has ranked under for months.
- A genuine full-service contractor that needs more than the Featured cap is a conversation with us, not a validation error.
Service area and local pages
Three different things happen when you declare a city you serve, and only the last two are behind a plan. Your listing appears on that city's directory page on every tier. Paid plans additionally build you a dedicated local page for it, and promote you in a limited number of the cities you pick — see Placement below for why that number is smaller than this one.

Worth knowing
- Extra cities are capped when you add one, so a downgrade does not delete the cities you already declared — you just cannot add more until you are back under the cap. The same applies to promoted cities: a downgrade stops them being promoted, it does not remove them from your coverage.
- If a paid plan ends, its local city pages permanently redirect to your main profile rather than 404ing, so nothing you earned in search is thrown away.
- A city page only exists once the city has a real city record, which takes three companies based there, so declaring a city is a claim about your coverage, not a guarantee of a new page.

Project photos are the cheapest proof a contractor has. Every tier can upload them; the plans differ in how many stay published.

Worth knowing
- Photos over your plan's limit are kept, not deleted. The first photos up to your cap are the ones shown publicly, and removing one changes which appear — so a downgrade costs you visibility, never your uploads.
Placement and visibility
This is the part you are actually paying for, and it is deliberately finite. A plan promotes you in a set number of cities — not in every city you serve — because a directory where every paid listing sits on top of every page stops being useful to the people it is for. Every paid position is labelled as paid placement, everywhere it happens.
Cities you are promoted in
Promoted means two things together: a card in the labelled sponsored strip at the top of that city's page, and first position in its results. Your home city is always one of them and never counts against the total. Everywhere else you serve, you still appear — you just rank on your merits like everyone else.

Inside a city you are promoted in, you sort above the standard roster. Outside it, and on state and category pages, rosters sort by tier, then by claimed, reviewed, and alphabetical order.

Worth knowing
- Paid placement changes where you appear. It is not an endorsement, a verification of workmanship, or a quality guarantee, and we will not present it as one.
- Placement never reorders review scores, never hides a free listing, and never removes a competitor from a page.
- A city's sponsored strip holds three cards. If more listings are promoted in one city than there is room for, the higher tier takes the slot, and longest-subscribed breaks a tie — so the strip is never sold as exclusive.
- A city page keeps companies based in the city separate from companies serving it from elsewhere, on every tier. Paid placement puts you in the labelled strip above both; it never moves an out-of-town company into the local roster.
Inquiries and leads
We do not sell leads and we do not charge per lead. Every published profile carries an inline contact form; what a paid plan buys is where that inquiry lands. On any paid plan it is delivered straight to your inbox. On Basic it comes to the directory instead, and the form says so rather than implying you are reading it.

- A Basic listing is a complete, indexed page: description, services, credentials, photos, reviews, map, and a working contact form. What a paid plan adds is the direct line — a number a visitor can tap, a website they can click, an inquiry that arrives in your inbox instead of ours.
- Inquiries routed through the directory are handled by us, not auctioned to the highest bidder.
Profile activity
Every claimed listing can see what its profile is doing. You should not have to buy a subscription to find out whether the directory is working for you — paid plans buy longer history, not the numbers themselves.

- You add or claim your listing first, then upgrade the existing listing — an upgrade is never how a listing gets created.
- Payment methods, invoices, and cancellation are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
What we will not sell
Placement is for sale. Credibility is not.
Paid plans change where a listing appears and how much it can carry. They do not change what we tell property owners we have checked, they do not reorder review scores, and they never remove a competing listing from a page. Every paid position on this site is labelled as paid placement, and license and insurance review stays free on every tier — including the free one.
How promoted cities work
You are promoted in a few cities, not in all of them.
Declaring a city puts your listing on its directory page. Being promoted in one puts you in the labelled sponsored strip at the top of it and first in its results. Those are different numbers on purpose: Pro is promoted in its home city, Featured in two, Sponsored in three, and you choose which. Everywhere else you serve, you still appear and rank on your merits.

Plan questions, answered
Do I have to pay to appear in the directory?
No. A free claimed listing publishes your full business record, appears in the cities you serve, carries a working contact form, and is eligible for search indexing like any other page — the same as any paid listing. What a paid plan adds is the direct line: a number a property owner can tap, a website link they can click, an email button, and quote requests delivered to your inbox rather than ours. On a free listing your number is still there, one click away, and your domain is printed as text.
What actually changes when I upgrade?
Quote requests start coming straight to your inbox rather than through the directory, and you get more service categories and cities, more published project photos, stronger placement in directory results, and your full 12-month activity history. Featured adds a labelled placement strip on your category pages and the ability to submit project spotlights for review.
Can I buy a verified badge or a better review status?
No, and this will not change. Review status comes from documents we actually check — your license and your insurance — and it is free on every tier, including Basic. A paid plan moves your listing up a page; it never changes what we say we have verified about you.
What happens to my listing if I cancel?
It stays published. Your listing reverts to Basic limits and standard placement, your content is not deleted, photos over the Basic limit are kept but stop showing publicly, and any dedicated local city pages permanently redirect to your main profile so nothing you earned in search is thrown away.
Why is there a limit on service categories, even on paid plans?
Because breadth is the claim a directory cannot check and the one contractors inflate hardest. A profile listing every category tells a property manager nothing about what your crews actually do. The cap is a data-quality rule first and a paid lever second — if you genuinely perform more than the Featured cap allows, contact us rather than working around it.
Do you charge per lead?
No. There are no per-lead fees on any tier, and an inquiry is never resold or shared with competitors. On any paid plan it goes straight to your listing's contact address; on Basic it comes to the directory, and the form on your profile says so plainly rather than implying you are reading it.
Do I sign up for a plan first, or add my company first?
Add or claim your company first. Plans upgrade an existing listing, so a subscription is never how a listing gets created. If your company is already in the directory, claim it and then upgrade from the dashboard.
Is annual billing cheaper?
Yes. Annual billing on either paid tier works out to ten months' cost for twelve months of service, and cancellation is self-service in the Stripe billing portal either way.
