Unlimited Fill Inc - Excavation & Demolition

Scott and Shelly Crofut founded Unlimited Fill in 1987, and the company works from Sarasota, Florida, on site development, excavation and demolition across Sarasota and Manatee counties. It is licensed, bonded and insured, and holds certification as a minority business enterprise. Shelly Crofut holds State Certified General Contractor status and is the company president. Sons Brent and Brad joined later, making the business three generations deep. The family was known in the Sarasota and Bradenton area for supplying topsoil before the company was formed.

Commercial site development is the main line of work, taking in land clearing, demolition, excavation, grading, building foundations and overall site management. Drainage forms a large part of it — the company installs underground vault systems, storm sewer systems and drainage systems, and its excavation work extends to lakes, retention ponds, drainage ditches, storm sewer vaults and storm structure installation. Disaster recovery is offered as a further service, which in coastal Florida is a capability with obvious application.

Underground utilities were added when the next generation joined, and the company is licensed for utility and fire line work, including fire hydrant installation, under certifications CUC 1225308 and FPC17-000131.

A separate residential division serves condominium associations, homeowner associations and residential builders. That work covers land clearing, foundation preparation, French drain systems, grading and drainage, tree removal and shoreline restoration.

The company describes working closely with clients on objectives and timelines, and puts weight on its operators coordinating with job superintendents and other subcontractors on site — the practical difference between a site package that runs to programme and one that does not.
